不過，法蘭絲麥杜文也有把Fern與自己分開的地方：當趙婷建議法蘭絲麥杜文的兒子Pedro也參加演出，又建議Fern亡夫的照片用上法蘭絲麥杜文丈夫的照片時，法蘭絲麥杜文認為這不是一部關於她的紀錄片而拒絕；此外，起初法蘭絲麥杜文在拍攝時親身住在先鋒車裡，後來認為自己已屆61歲，為免太累，才轉到劇組所住的旅館^[17]。

不一樣的結局

電影的結局，Fern告別故居，駕上先鋒車重新出發。

原來趙婷本來打算讓電影結局停留在Fern回到Empire的舊居一幕，以向西部電影《The Searchers》（搜索者）致敬，但由於她在疫情爆發期間開始剪片，讓她希望可以透過這電影帶出希望，於是才改成現在的結局。

趙婷笑言，如她不是在疫情期間剪輯的話，電影結局就會停在Fern的故居了^[18]。

最後，劇組把電影「獻給那些不得不離開的人」（dedicated to the ones who had to depart），並留下雋永的一句「路上再見」（see you down the road）。
