I am an independent journalist and photographer, based in Southeast Asia but working widely across the developing world. I am a contributing writer at Nikkei Asian Review, and my articles and photographs have appeared in The Atlantic, Newsweek, The Financial Times, Wired, The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal and others. I was previously the editor of the short-lived UK current affairs magazine Raconteur, and of the Financial Times Ltd’s This Is Africa magazine.
